The Electronic Citizen Services (ECS) project has been successfully implemented at the office of DC (South Andaman), Port Blair and was launched by Chief Secretary in Oct 2007. The computerized system has brought about complete transparency in the operations of the DC office. Citizens of Port Blair and near by areas are now availing the services offered by the DC office through the computer. Around 25,000 applications from citizens have been serviced till date in the last one year.
The Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) has been launched as part of ECS. Citizens obtain the status of application for a service through a normal telephone connection by Phone No : 244622. The facility has been provided in both English and Hindi.
The Kiosk system established at the DC office provides useful details about the services offered and status of applications. The common man operates the kiosk on their own by hand without requiring any knowledge about computers.
The Land Records details for Ferrarganj tehsil have been computerized and published on the website for all revenue lands in the tehsil.
All the services offered by the DC office have been published in the website of DC Office to provide computerized benefits to the citizens of the A & N islands.
