The A&N Administration has  signed an MOU with Bharartiya Jain Sanghatana for the improvement in the Quality of Education in all the 400 schools of the Islands. The roll out of the programs, custom-made for  the  Schools  of   the  Islands,  by   BJS  (called  BJS-EDUQIP (A&N)   program)   is   to  be  done under the supervision  of  a  5  member  committee (Called AN-BASIC)  set  up  by  the Directorate of Education.  The AN-BASIC is headed by Shri P.K. Roy, ADE(Admn) as its Chairman and includes Shri. Lucus Robert, DEO (SA), as  member Secretary  and Dr.R.P.Pandey, Principal, DIET, as Member alongwith two members nominated by BJS.  The BJS-EDUQIP (A&N) program  is  absolutely  free  of  cost  to  the A&N Administration with no cost implications on the A&N Administration.

             It is evident that the BJS-EDUQIP(A&N) program under the supervision of AN-BASIC is exceedingly important  for  the Children, Teachers and  Education  Department of  A&N  Islands, not only for the holistic development  of  the  children  of  the  Islands  but also  to bring them at par with the other children of the mainland.
