LG condoles Sunil Dutt’s death
The Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Prof Ram Kapse, has condoled the sudden demise of Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Shri Sunil Dutt.
In a condolence letter sent to his son Shri Sanjay Dutt, Prof Kapse recalled the visit of Shri Sunil Dutt to the Islands soon after tsunami and his help to the youth of the Islands to restore their spirit.
The Lt. Governor further stated that, as well-known actor Sunil Dutt has won the hearts of the Indians and added that in his passing away the Nation has lost a dedicated social worker, Parliamentarian and much loved film personality.
Training in Household Wiring concludes
Livelihood restoration and skill development training programme in Household Wiring organized by Directorate of Industries in association with CARE-India, Andaman and Nicobar Islands at the Entrepreneurship Development Institute, Middle Point, Port Blair concluded on 25th May, 2005. Thirteen trainees came out successful in the fortnight-long training programme. Shri Chetan B Sanghi, Commissioner-cum-Secretary (Finance), Andaman and Nicobar Administration was the chief guest at the concluding function who reiterated the need for analysis/survey of A&N Islands for future development including restoration of livelihood.
Director of Industries in his welcome address stated that the department is working on short-term and long-term livelihood restoration programmes.
Smt. Aditi Ghosh, representative from CARE-India in her address thanked for the support provided by the Administration for ongoing programme in skill development.
Counselling to students for admission
This is for information of all concerned students, appearing at the All India Senior Secondary Certificate Examination-2005 in the second spell, that they may submit their application for counselling for admission without enclosing marks sheet of class XII for the purpose.
Such students are however to enclose a certificate to the effect that they are appearing at the AISC Exam-2005 in the second spell, issued by the Directorate of Education.
The procedure is advised as per confirmation by the Director, Tamil Nadu Engineering Admission to the Director Education, A&N Administration over telephone.
All the candidates are advised to apply for the aforesaid certificate to be issued by the Directorate of Education. Students are advised to enclose a copy of the Admission card/Hall ticket alongwith their application for issue of the certificate. It would be the responsibility of the students to submit the Mark sheet of class XII to the authority concerned in time i.e. at the time of counselling.
