Inauguration of Police Station Aberdeen
The Hon’ble Lt. Governor, Prof. Ram Kapse, will inaugurate the newly constructed building of the Police Station Aberdeen at a function to be held on June 3, 2005 at 9 AM in the presence of the Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Shri Manoranjan Bhakta.
Ship tickets quota for Defence personnel
The Government of India, Ministry of Shipping, Road Transport & Highways (Department of Shipping), New Delhi have decided to enhance the quota of Ship Tickets meant for Defence Personnel in the Mainland-Island sector from the existing 15% to 25% for a period of three months in view of the rehabilitation/reconstruction of defence infrastructure in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands on the backdrop of the devastating Earthquake/Tsunami hit on these Islands on 26th December, 2004.
In compliance of this decision by Government of India the A&N Administration have enhanced the quota of Ship Tickets meant for Defence Personnel from the existing 15% to 25% by withdrawing proportionately from the quotas of Government Servant and General Public in mainland-island vessels exclusively for a period of three months with effect from 4.6.2005.
The normal quota will stand restore automatically on expiry of three months period as specified above.
