Theatre Workshop inaugurated
The Month-long Theatre Workshop organized by the National School of Drama in A&N Islands was inaugurated today at a function organized at Andaman Club, Port Blair. Well-known theatre artist Shri Phalguni Gangopadhyay was the Chief Guest and Smti. Geetanjai Acharya, another veteran theatre artist was the Guest of Honour .The month long theatre workshop is being organized in association with the Department of Art and Culture, A&N Administration and EZCC, GoI.
Shri Shiv Parasd Gond, Camp Director, NSD in his address highlighted the significance of the workshop. Shri Madan Mohan Singh, Member, Governing Body also spoke on the occasion. Earlier, Dr. Rashida Iqbal, Incharge, Culture gave the welcome address.
Project funding by Ministry
The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi provides funds to various types of projects under the Deendayal Disabled Rehabilitation Scheme to support the voluntary organizations dedicated in the disability sector for the persons with disabilities. The Ministry has also allocated fund to support the NGOs/ voluntary organizations for this cause. In this regard, the interested Non Government Organizations of this Union Territory are advised to forward their applications along with all the details of the project proposal (DPR) to the Directorate of Social Welfare, Goalghar, Port Blair by June 20 for taking further action.
