Lt Governor Launches Video Conference facility

at Andaman Bhawan New Delhi

    The Hon’ble Lt. Governor Shri N N Jha  inaugurated the Video Conference facility thro’ ISDN lines at Andaman Bhawan, New Delhi, today (18/11/03) and held discussions with Senior officials of the A&N Administration at NIC Secretariat, Port Blair.

    During the programme, presentations were made by IT firms namely M/s ITI, M/s CMC Ltd & M/s First Sight Computing based at Delhi, on various e-governance solutions, they have developed, which can be adopted  at A&N Islands.

     The presentation was attended at Delhi, by Shri A Anbarasu, Secretary (IT & Tourism), and Shri Jayadev Sarangi, Resident Commissioner and at Port Blair, by Shri S. Hemachandran, Development Commissioner, Shri Uddipta Ray, Secretary Education, Supdt Engineer, APWD, Supdt Engineer, Electricity, Dy Secretary Planning, CGM, BSNL, Joint Secretary (IT) and other  officials concerned.

     The Video Conferencing was coordinated by NIC at both ends.
