Induction Training For IT Professionals Gets Underway

    The two-day Induction Training Programme for the newly recruited IT Professionals in the Amalgamated IT cadre got underway, with its inauguration by the Commissioner-cum-Secretary Technical Education & Finance, Dr. M.M.Kutty at a function held at Dr. B.R.Ambedkar Polytechnic here this morning.  Addressing the function, Dr. Kutty said that the amalgamated IT is the newly created cadre in the Administration and this IT professionals will be fully responsible for the implementation of e-governance in different departments of the Administration.  He said priority has been given for complete computerization of departmental activities and the old methods are being slowly done away with paving the way for computerization.

    Citing examples of some existing computerized systems such as issuing tickets, movements of files, seat allotment etc.  Dr. Kutty said the introduction of these methods has resulted in a transparent, smooth and efficient mode for ensuring easy access to information.  The newly IT professionals will have to give a positive response to a faster pace in this direction, he said.

    In his welcome address, Shri Utpal Sharma, Joint Secretary (IT) said that the trainees, who will be inducted into service in different departments of the Administration, will have to study the process of various activities, both past and future in their respective department and observe the problems and difficulties in their implementation.

    However, they will face some problems in the initial stages, which they should be able to overcome in a short period with the help of their technical knowledge and experience.

    About 41 trainee professionals are attending the programme which will continue till tomorrow (July 29, 2003).
