MoU Signed to Computerize Functions of G.B. Pant Hospital

   

    In order to computerize various functions of G.B. Pant Hospital, a memorandum of understanding was signed on 03/09/2003 between the Director of Health Services and Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC), a national initiative of the Department of Information technology, Ministry of Communications and IT, GoI, in the presence of the Chief Secretary, Shri Pradeep Singh, Commissioner (Health) Shri. S. Hemachandran and others.

    The area of computerization include registration, Central Admission, Out Patient Department, Investigation, Blood Bank, Pharmacy Management, Central Stores Department, Medical Records (Off line). and enquiry.

    The Memorandum of Association envisages implementation of the Hospital Information System Project in GB Pant Hospital in a period of 7 months commencing form today.  By implementing this Project, Computer Terminals will be placed in the Registration Counters, Specially Departments, Pathology Laboratories, X-ray Unit, Pharmacy, Central Stores of the Hospital and Blood Bank.  The outpatients coming to the Hospital will be given bar coded Registration slip and guided to go the particular Specialty Department for consultation after which they will to go to the Pathology Laboratory, X-ray Department and Pharmacy for different services.  This will help to maintain accurate medical records of each and every patient availing the services and also have control over the Pharmacy and the Investigation Laboratories.  The entire Project is expected to be completed by March, 2004.
