HOW TO GET SHIP TICKET

All passenger are required to give details of infants below 2 years of age while purchasing tickets. No fare will be charged for the infants . This is ISO requirement.

AT PORT BLAIR

(A) FOR MV NANCOWRY & MV SWARAJDWEEP

The prescribed requisition forms will be available in the Inquiry Counter free of cost. The intending passengers are required to fill up the form and submit it along with two passport size photograph and supporting documents, if any, to avail concessions at the Phoenix Bay ticketing counter.

(B) FOR MV NICOBAR, MV AKBAR AND MV HARSHAVARDHANA

The tickets for these vessels as per the sailing schedule published with the approval of the A & N Administration are issued form the Ticketing Counter at Supply Line, Port Blair, managed by the SCI authorities stationed at Port Blair. The system/procedure for issuing tickets for these vessels is also the same as for MV Nancowry and MV Swaraj Dweep.

(C) FOR INTER ISLANDS AND FORESHORE VESSELS

The Dy. Director (Shipping Services) is responsible for issuance of tickets for all Inter –Island vessels sailing to various islands. Tickets will be issued from the Inter-Island ticketing counter at Phoenix Bay Jetty Complex. Tickets for Tribal areas will be issued only on production of tribal pass or Identity cards for Govt. Servants on duty.

FOR HARBOUR FERRY VESSELS

            Ticket for Harbour ferry vessels can be purchased from the Ticketing Counters at Phoenix Bay Jetty Complex, Chatham and Bambooflat daily from 0400 hours to 2200 hours.

AT CHENNAI

(A) FOR MV NANCOWRY AND MV SWARAJDWEEP

The issuance of Passenger tickets and booking of Cargo for MV Nancowry and MV Swaraj Dweep are done at the Counter attached with the office of the Dy. Director (Shipping Services), Chennai adjacent to Gate No.1 of Chennai Port, Opposite Customs Office, Rajaji Salai, Chennai – 1.

(B) FOR MV NICOBAR, MV AKBAR AND MV HARSHAVARDHANA

The operational control of these vessels are entrusted to the SCI. Hence, the tickets for passengers and booking of cargo are done in the counters attached with the office of the SCI situated at Rajaji Salai, Opposite Customs Office, Chennai– 1.

AT CALCUTTA

            The tickets for all the passenger vessels are issued by SCI, Ltd., from their office situated at 13, Strand Road, Calcutta-17. We will aim to establish a transist accommodation for passengers by the year 2001.

AT VISAKAPATNAM

            The issuance of passage tickets and booking of cargo in respect of all the passenger vessels calling at Visakapatnam is done by an Agent of SCI M/s AV Bhanoji Rao Garuda Pattabiramaiah & Co. Ltd., at their private ticketing counter. We will aim to establish a transit accommodation for the passengers with basic amenities by the year 2001.

AT OTHER PLACES OF A & N ISLANDS

AT DIGLIPUR

(A) FOR MAINLAND ISLAND VESSELS

The quota tickets allotted for the people of Diglipur area for MV Nancowry and MV Swaraj Dweep are issued by the staff of the Directorate of Shipping Services posted at Diglipur under the control of the Tahsildar. For the remaining vessels MV Nicobar, MV Akbar and MV Harshavardhana, the Tahsildar, shall release the quota through a letter addressed to the DGM, SCI, Port Blair based on which the tickets will be issued at the SCI ticketing counter at Supply Line, Port Blair.

(B) FOR INTER ISLAND VESSELS

The tickets for the vessels sailing from Diglipur for Port Blair are issued  by the staff of the Directorate of Shipping Services under the control of the Tahsildar.

AT MAYABUNDER

(A)  FOR MAINLAND - ISLANDS VESSELS

The quota tickets are marked for Mayabunder in respect of MV Nancowry and MV Swarajdweep and the Calcutta bound passenger vessels sailing via Mayabunder are issued at Mayabunder by the staff of the Directorate of Shipping Services posted at Mayabunder under the control/guidance of the Assistant Commissioner, Mayabunder. For the remaining vessels, the quota is released through a letter addressed to the Dy. General Manager, SCI, and Port Blair, based on which tickets will be issued at Supply Line ticketing counter.

(B) FOR INTER-ISLAND VESSELS 

            The tickets for the Inter-Island vessels sailing from Mayabunder for Port Blair will be issued by the staff of the Directorate of Shipping Services posted at Mayabunder under the control of the Assistant Commissioner, Mayabunder.

AT RANGAT

(A) FOR MAINLAND-ISLAND VESSLES 

The quota tickets are marked for Rangat in respect of MV Nancowry and MV Swaraj Dweep will be issued at Rangat by the staff of the Directorate of Shipping Services posted under the control of the Tahsildar and the quota for the remaining vessels are released through letters addressed to the DGM, SCI, Port Blair, by the Tahsildar, Rangat.

(B)        FOR INTER-ISLAND VESSELS 

The tickets for the vessels sailing from Rangat for Port Blair will be issued from the Ticketing Counter at Rangat Bay by the staff of the Directorate of Shipping Services posted at Rangat under the control of the Tahsildar, Ranagt.

AT HUTBAY 

(A)     FOR MAINLAND - ISLANDS VESSELS

(B)  FOR INTER-ISLAND VESSELS 

The tickets for the passengers of Hut Bay availing the vessels sailing to Southern group of Islands and returning to Port Blair viz Hut Bay are issued by the staff of the Directorate of Shipping Services posted at Hut Bay under the control/guidance of the Dy. Chief Engineer, ALHW, Hut Bay.

 AT CAR NICOBAR

(A)  FOR MAINLAND - ISLANDS VESSELS

The quota tickets allotted for Car Nicobar in respect of MV Nancowry and MV Swarajdweep  are issued by the Dy. Commissioner, Car Nicobar. For the remaining vessels MV Nicobar, MV Akbar and MV Harshavardhana, the quota is released through a letter addressed to the DGM, SCI, Port Blair based on which the tickets are issued at the SCI ticketing counter at Supply Line, Port Blair.

(B)   FOR INTER-ISLAND VESSELS 

The Dy. Commissioner, Nicobar District is responsible for issuance of tickets at Car Nicobar for the Passengers availing the Inter-island vessels from Car Nicobar.

AT NANCOWRY

(A)   FOR MAINLAND - ISLANDS VESSELS

The Assistant Commissioner, Nancowry is authorised to issue tickets in respect of the quota allotted for the passengers of Nancowry group of islands for MV Nancowry and MV Swarajdweep. For the remaining vessels, quota is released by the AC Nancowry through a letter addressed to the DGM, SCI, Port Blair based on which the tickets are issued by the SCI authorities at Supply Line Counter at Port Blair.

(B)   FOR INTER-ISLAND VESSELS 

The Assistant Commissioner, Nancowry is responsible for issuing the tickets for the passengers of Nancowry group of Islands for the Inter-Island vessels.

 AT CAMPBELL BAY

(A)  FOR MAINLAND - ISLANDS VESSELS

The Assistant Commissioner, Campbell Bay is authorised to issue tickets in respect of the quota allotted for the passengers at Campbell Bay for MV Nancowry and MV Swarajdweep. For other Mainland-Island vessels quota is released by the AC, Campbell Bay by issuing a letter addressed to the DGM, SCI, ,Port Blair based on which the tickets are issued by the SCI authorities at Supply Line Counter at Port Blair.

(B)  FOR INTER-ISLAND VESSELS 

The quota tickets allotted for the passengers of Campbell Bay for the vessels returning to Port Blair are issued by the Assistant Commissioner, Campbell Bay.
