NOTICE

Sub : Suggestions towards formulation of a policy - regarding Jarawas of Andaman Islands.

    In pursuance of the directions from the Hon'ble High Court in their order dated 9.4.2001, the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India constituted an Expert Committee on Jarawas vide their notification No. U-14040/24/99-ANL dated 21.7.2001. The committee submitted its report on 28th July, 2003. Andaman & Nicobar Administration has placed the report submitted by the Expert Committee on Jarawas in its website www.andaman.nic.in with effect from August, 2003 in compliance with the order dated 4.8.2003 of the Hon'ble High Court of Calcutta in the W.P. No. 48 of 1999 to enable Anthroplogists, Sociologists and individuals having knowledge and experience in the matter to give theirs suggestions.
