A & N AIDS Control Society conducted ONE (1) Day training programme of Staff Nurses, Nursing Sisters, ANMs, Laboratory Technicians/Assistants for 3 days in 3 separate batches on 5^th, 6^th and 7^th Jan, 2010. Concluding function of the Training programme was held on 7th Jan 2010, 3:00pm at Auditorium, G B Pant Hospital. More than 108 participants of different categories from G B Pant Hospital and Primary Health Center, Garacharma were trained on ^{“ Prevention and Control of HIV/AIDS-STDs and Opportunistic infection (TB).”}

The resource persons for the Training Programme were Dr. WAJID ALI SHAH (Sr. Pathologist) who trained on “BLOOD SAFETY AND LABORATORY TECHNIQUES.” Dr. GANESH SAMADDAR (Deputy Director, Blood Safety) spoke on “INTRODUCTION OF HIV/AIDS-STD & OPPORTUNISTIC INFECTION-TB.” Dr. ANINDITA SAIKIYA (Skin Specialist) on “STD- its prevention, control, and relation between HIV-STD.” Dr. Arun (Gynecologist) “GENERAL PRECAUTIONS IN ANTENATAL AND POSTNATAL CARE.”

Chief Guest for the Concluding Programme was Dr. N SADASIVAN, Director of Health Service/ Vice Chairman, ANACS appreciated the activities of A & N AIDS Control Society for creating awareness among general public on HIV/AIDS.

Project Director Shri. S N JHA (IAS) briefed on the various Activities of ANACS.

Medical Superintendent Dr. M K SAHA was also present on the occasion.

Certificates were distributed to Trainees by the Chief Guest.

Vote of Thanks was given by Dr. JAHANARA YASMEEN, Deputy Director (IEC).
