HOW TO APPLY FOR PERMISSION TO HAVE ACCESS TO RECORDS PRESERVED IN ANDAMAN & NICOBAR ARCHIVES, SECRETARIAT Andaman and Nicobar Archives is functioning in the Secretariat complex adjacent to the main building. More than 50,000 files/records and other valuable records/documents of Administrative and Historical values such as impact of Japanese occupation of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, old Land Revenue Records, past history of U.T. Administration etc. are preserved in the 'Andaman and Nicobar Archives' Secretariat of A&N Administration. Any bonafide Research Scholar can have access to records/files kept in the Records Room which are more than thirty years old by applying in Form No.8 as prescribed in "Public Records Rules, 1997" for research/reference purpose. Form No.8, which has been given below, may either be downloaded or obtained in person from the 'Andaman and Nicobar Archives' Secretariat and furnish with requisite details for necessary approval. |
